Crisis Committee
Topic:
1) Resolving the July Crisis (1914)
President
Kaden Fei (DCB)
Deputy President
Owen Wu (SASPD)

To the delegates,
I am Kaden Fei and I will be serving as the President for the Crisis Committee at SHASMUN XII. I am a student attending Dulwich College Beijing. Don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.
When I first joined MUN it was because I needed to do an extracurricular that helped me communicate more confidently. However, as I continued doing MUN it turned out to be more than just an extracurricular and something I genuinely enjoyed taking my weekends away to do. I have attended seven conferences and chaired at four of which this will be my fifth time chairing. During my journey I have learnt many skills that are not exclusive to MUN, which is something I wish for all of you to do.
Hope to see you all in November.

Backrooms Director
Ethan Chow (SASPD)

Hi,
my name is Ethan Chow and I am currently a Junior in SAS pudong. I have over 7 years of MUN experience and I can confidently say that you are in the most exciting and riviting comittee. I will be your Crisis Backrooms director and I can't wait to absolutely ruin your plans and send the room into chaos. Be prepared for 3 days of absolute mayhem unlike anything you've ever seen in MUN. Since I have been in Crisis over 3 times I have no doubt that each one of you will leave with a unique experience and a wealth of achievements after today. See you on the day!
Backrooms
Burak Pei (SUISWY)

Hi delegates,
This is Burak Pei. I am one of the backroom members of the CRSIS committee. I have engaged with Model United Nations for around three years, and I love the values of this event, especially how it emphasizes negotiation among delegates and diplomatic analysis of global events. CRSIS committees imitate an emergent situation in reality, where delegates become actual celebrities and delegate historical figures to address personal and party interests in the problem. CRISIS, in my opinion, requires the most creativity and imagination, which you will master after this conference experience. Be creative, be bold, and most importantly, be critical when making observations, and I wish you all a fruitful conference!

James Yin (SASPD)

Hi delegates,
My name is James Yin and I'm currently an 11th grader at SAS Pudong. Even though I only started MUN 3 and a half years ago, crisis has become an essential part of my MUN journey. In the two times I've been in crisis, every single one was an unforgettable experience consisting of fiery speeches, and ingenious plots. As part of the backrooms committee, I look forward to seeing how you use your portfolio powers.
